I am a Priest

I am a Priest.

I did not become a Priest because I felt like it.

I became a Priest because I felt the need to serve my community.

I became a Priest to better, for lack of a better term, serve my God Lugh.

Make no mistake, I am a Priest not a servant.

I work to better understand my Lord and help others better understand Him and His family.

I give offerings to my Lord to thank Him for His guidance and His help.

I strive to hold the same values as my Lord for these are good values and I believe in them.

I am human, I will fail.

I am human, I will strive.

I am human, I will succeed.

I am a Priest of Lugh, this is because he came to me and told me it was so.

I am a….something to Yemaya because She has said so.

I know of no ancestral link to Her.

I know of no way that She could be part of my heritage.

I know that I make offerings to Her simply because it is polite.

I now know that this is wrong of me, I am being rude.

I know that She literally saved my life and I should be far more grateful to Her.

I am a man.

I am a Pagan.

I am a Pagan man.

For the longest time I was disgusted at how men were treated in Wiccan circles.

I still am in some cases.

I have learned to get over it.

I am a man, it’s time to act like one.

I will no longer allow my life to ruled by my slothfulness and my inattentive nature.

You may be asking yourself what the point of this post was, well that’s very simple. The point of this post was power, the power of simple statements. By saying these things aloud I bring them to light, by writing them down I force my mind to think about them more in depth. By the power of these simple statements I shall break the chains I have placed on my self. I shall dust off my sense of purpose and discipline, I shall be worthy of the title of Priest that others and my God have so graciously vested me with.

I am a man.

I am a Priest.

I am a Priest of my God and of my Coven.

I shall make sure I am worthy of such a title.

  1. I really like this post. I look forward to reading more on your blog. I’ve included a link to your blog on my own because I’d like other people to come get to know you, too!
I am currently going through something with Yemaya…coming to me in dreams…more to come I’m sure so your words hit home. I don’t know what she wants yet, but she is making her presence known so I must follow.
I look forward to getting to know you better.
